How much power solar panels create
How much power does a 10kW solar system really produce in NSW?
Each of the 440W panels we use will do around 1.7–2kWh a day on average here in NSW. Summer it’ll be higher, winter a bit lower, but that’s the general range.
When you add them all together it jumps pretty quick – a 10kW system (about 23 panels) will normally pump out around 35–50kWh a day depending on the weather.
The house always uses that power first, so that’s where the savings start straight away. Anything they don’t use goes into the battery, and once that’s full they can start selling the extra back to the grid. That’s where people really see the big savings or even start making money.
Bigger systems with a battery always do better because you’ve got more free power coming in during the day and more stored for night time.
